The School of Politics and International Relations held their 2nd annual Teachers Conference on 23 June. In collaboration with the East London Politics Partnership and BSix (Brook House Sixth Form College), A-level teachers from east London were invited to spend a day at the School of Politics and International Relations, Queen Mary University of London.

Guardian columnist Matthew d’Ancona opened the conference with a talk on the next steps for the UK Conservative party. The conference was moderated by Professor Tim Bale who offered advice and guidance on how students can best approach and enter higher education. The day followed with talks from our faculty on nationalism, global politics, the European Union as well as the UK’s current government, allowing teachers to experience teaching at QMUL.

We received some excellent feedback and are already looking forward to next year’s conference.
