Expressions of Interest - Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships

27 October 2015

The School of Politics and International Relations (SPIR) at Queen Mary University of London is looking to sponsor outstanding applications for the Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships.

We welcome expressions of interest from candidates with a completed PhD, an outstanding research proposal and an excellent academic and publication track record working in the following areas

  • European Public Policy
  • Global Governance, Development and Security
  • British Politics
  • Political Theory

This is an excellent opportunity for world-leading researchers to gain prestigious funding for the early stages of their academic career and the School will provide full support and guidance in developing selected applications. SPIR boasts a dynamic mix of approaches to research in politics and IR, including: public policy; political economy; securitisation; global governance; US foreign policy; contemporary political theory; area specialisms (the Balkans, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and South Asia), and post-colonialism.

Applicants in the first instance should contact the School’s Postgraduate Research Student and Research Manager, Alex Challis, with a CV and Research Proposal (1000 words maximum, excluding footnotes and references) by Friday 27th November. Applicants will be notified by the end of January 2016 as to whether SPIR will support a formal application.

Applicants should check if their research is compatible with our research interests and indicate which research areas they want to be affiliated with, and check Leverhulme’s eligibility requirements before putting together an Expression of Interest.
