Professor Tim Bale, Seven in 10 grassroots Tories are men

5 October 2017

The Tories have an age problem, writes Professor Tim Bale in an opinion article for Politico. He says: “In June’s general election, some two-thirds of British voters aged 18-25 voted Labour. Only one in five voted Conservative. That’s got the party worried — and rightly so….The Tories will have to come up with something convincing to offer people in their 20s, 30s and 40s on bread-and-butter issues if they are to have any hope of clawing back some of the support they have lost to Labour in recent years.” Find out more about Professor Bale’s Party Members Project.
