Whether MPs will get a vote on Britain’s final Brexit deal – is up for debate again as an amendment to the EU Withdrawal Bill passes through the House of Commons. Professor of Politics at Queen Mary, Tim Bale, comments on why the ‘meaningful vote’ is an important issue: The meaningful vote is “contentious because Brexiteers still fear Remainers will use it to sabotage or soften Brexit, while Remainers still fear it might not prevent the worst-case scenario – the UK crashing out of the EU without any kind of deal,” he says.
