Book and Briefing Launch - Civil Society and Global Poverty: Hegemony, Inclusivity, Legitimacy

You are cordially invited to the launch of Dr Clive Gabay’s book ‘Civil Society and Global Poverty: Hegemony, Inclusivity, Legitimacy’ an event being organised by the School of Politics and International Relations at Queen Mary University of London and INTRAC, who provide training, consultancy and research services to international development and relief organisations worldwide.

Dr Gabay will discuss his book, which talks about the Global Call to Action against Poverty, a large anti-poverty network with affiliates in over 100 countries, who are the United Nations civil society partner for achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The event will be chaired by Professor David Hulme, Executive Director of the Brooks World Poverty Institute at the University of Manchester. A limited number of Dr Gabay’s book will be available for £25 during the reception.

Dr Gabay will also present a Briefing Paper that he has written for INTRAC, which develops aspects of the book concerning the politics of the MDGs and reflects on the build-up to the post-MDG agenda. This Briefing Paper will be publicly available shortly from www.intrac.org

The event will be followed by a drinks reception.
