Distance Learning

Obtain a postgraduate qualification from a prestigious Russell Group university via online learning!

We provide a Distance Learning mode of delivery for many programmes including our popular MA in International Relations.

Distance Learning is ideal if you do not – or cannot – live in London for the duration of your degree. It is also useful if you have a demanding job and do not enjoy the flexibility to regularly take time off in the daytime to attend classes.

With Distance Learning, modules are taught online. Students primarily communicate with – and are supervised by - lecturers via electronic media through, for example, scheduled online seminars. As well as planned access to lecturers, students also enjoy full access to the electronic library resources of QMUL and the University of London.

The intellectual content of Distance Learning programmes is exactly the same as campus based versions. Additionally, we hold the same expectations of your work and scholarship as we do for our campus based students, which means that your degree will be just as valuable.

The distance learning format appealed to my work/life balance. It was very beneficial being able to continue to work and place what I was learning into the international media context within which I work. The ability to be able to study during the hours that suit me made this work.
Keth Parsons, MA International Relations

Most of our Distance Learning programmes offer full and part time provisions (except the MSc in European Public Policy). We also offer shorter versions of the programme that will give you a Postgraduate Diploma (two semesters full-time, four semesters part-time) or a Postgraduate Certificate (one semester full-time).
