The following sections contain information on our School Induction for New and Returning Students.

School Induction for New Students 

Monday 16th September & Tuesday 17th September 2013

Arts One Building, Mile End Road (No 37 on the Map)

In addition to the college enrolment, there are additional sessions which you must attend as part of the School's own Induction.

These sessions are designed to welcome you to the School and prepare you for your studies with us.  Sessions include information on the following;

  • Personal advisers
  • Module selection and registration
  • Students’ Union
  • Careers
  • Disability and Dyslexia Unit
  • Advice and Counselling
  • Study skills

NOTE: these induction details are for those students taking Single honours Politics and International Relations or our joint programme Politics with Business Management. 

Other joint honours students should see the web pages of their home Schools;  School of Economics and Finance,  School of Geography, School of History,  School of Law or School of Languages Linguistics and Film.

Returning Student Induction

You should have received information from Academic Registry concerning your re-enrolment, as this can be done online before your return to college.  If you  are having any problems please contact Registry direct at

Induction for returning students is scheduled on Monday 16th September, beginning 12pm in Drapers' Lecture Theatre. All 2nd and Final year students are required to attend.

The induction sessions are designed to welcome you back to the School and prepare you for your studies with us.  Sessions include information on the following;

  • Personal advisers
  • Module selection and registration, and personal teaching timetables.
  • Careers
  • General Exam Feedback Talk

Your module choices, and subsequently your personal teaching timetable, will have been confirmed to you by Jason Salucideen before September, if you have any queries concerning this please contact Jason directly. You will also have an opportunity to discuss your module registration with your personal adviser during the induction.

Students returning from Interruption of Study should make an appointment to meet with Jason Salucideen during the induction week to discuss/prepare for their return to study.


All Undergraduate teaching will begin from Monday 23rd September 2013
